Description

Full-view, please.

I painted this from skratch in Photoshop 7, taken from my imagination. I've used some referances on the painting of the M-16 and the helmets used by U.S Infantry-forces during the Vietnam-war.
During the Vietnam-war the U.S forces often found themselves stuck in the jungle, completely isolated and surrounded by enemies. The open/full-scale-war-experienced Americans weren't ready for a close-quarters-combat-war, and after too many deaths and casualites, U.S forces were pulled out from Vietnam.

It wasn't as terrible and big as WWII or WWI in scale or such, or in casualties, but in brutalism and radical warfare, frequently using terrible weaponry as napalm and other destructive weapons.
The Vietnam-war was also the first war where journalism, photography and live-filming took place, which lead to the hatred against the meaningless war.

I am really into the whole war-genre. I want to paint and to bring out the brutalism, coldness and bloody war-scenario.

I am not that happy about this one, but please, share your opinion about it.
